Why do we SABOTAGE ourselves?

We figure out what we want…that dream, desire or goal or intuitive hit that we had.

We are super excited.

We overcome the fear and the resistance and take the first step.

It feels exhilarating, liberating, exciting and like it is all finally coming together.

Then we take the next few steps. And maybe even months worth of action.

We start seeing momentum. We start seeing success. We are getting closer to what we truly want. The 15 lbs out of 20lbs of weight has been lost. Our relationship is more committed and we are enjoying each other’s company again. The business is taking off and the new offer/product/service is gaining traction. Our career is thriving with our renewed focus. We are meditating, going to bed early and clean eating daily and feeling the positive effects on our energy.

And then….

We begin to sabotage our progress. We stop being as methodical in our practices, we intentionally say something we know will trigger our partner, we go out and buy donuts, we start watching late night TV again….

WHY?

Why do we do SO MUCH work to then ‘blow it all up’, ruin the results and basically go back to what we were doing before?

Because change is scary. Because we aren’t naturally wired to step outside our comfort zone. Because we may have prepared for the actions but we didn’t prepare our mind.

We sabotage ourselves because we haven’t trained ourselves to keep going regardless of thoughts, feelings, emotions and moods.

We haven’t really defined our reason why or it’s not big enough for us to keep our momentum going.

We aren’t reminding ourselves everyone morning on a daily basis of what we truly want and why.

We aren’t holding ourselves accountable and doing what we said we would.

We aren’t doing a daily practice of appreciation and gratitude so that we are consciously aware of how far we have come.

If you are currently SABOTAGING YOURSELF in some way (in any area of your life from finances to relationships to your work to your health and well-being), ask yourself WHY?

And then get back on track. Identify what needs to shift.

Do you need to…

  • Keep going regardless of how you feel?
  • Revisit and redefine your reason why?
  • Refine how you plan for your day and ensure you are committed each morning?
  • Actually do what you say you were going to do?
  • Appreciate more daily of where you were and where you’re headed?

Realize what you need to do. Then, re-commit.

And go do it!

OR

Keep sabotaging yourself and don’t realize your dreams.

This choice is up to you.

When it FEELS like it’s ALL against you…

You know what I’m talking about…when things aren’t going your way and then even more of your world starts to crumble and then…

What do you do?
How do you respond?
Do you cave to the pressure or does the pressure make you rise?

When it gets too hard…what do you do?

Do you quit or do you shift, adjust and create a new strategy?

Do you keep going?

And then the big question….is the world really against you?

Or is it all actually working for you?

Is it really providing you with the possibility and opportunity to see how powerful you really are, what your capacity really is and if you are willing to keep going after what you truly want.

All you actually need to do when this happens is:
FIND A WAY.
You just have to FIGURE IT OUT.

So, if you feel like everything is against you right now, it’s time to decide what you truly want, buckle down and keep moving through all of the chaos and the trials and tribulations towards the life you were born to live.

How you show up MATTERS…in a BIG WAY.

Everything is energy. How you show up energetically matters. It matters in your relationships, with your health and well-being, in your career and business and with regards to your personal growth and well-being.

It’s time assess how you are showing up and what needs to shift.

Are you showing up tired?
Are you showing up irritated with a lack of patience?
Are you showing up with more energy for strangers than for your own family?
Are you going ALL IN on your business or kind of doing it?
Are you showing up open to new ideas, concepts, strategies and things to try or are you skeptical?
Are you showing up in a way that those closest to you feel like they matter?
Are you showing up for YOU?

Your ENERGY MATTERS. It impacts your growth. It impacts your abundance. It impacts the level of your energy and it impacts what you attract into your life.

The universe conspires for you and matches your vibration.

If you aren’t exactly where you want to be in all areas of your life, you need to shift your energy.

Take a moment to assess this. And then do something about it. Sometimes just recognizing it is enough. And other times, you need to fuel your body differently, you need to sleep more, you need to stop doing some things and you need to give yourself a good old kick in the ass.

Shift the energy…change what’s happening in your life

What do you do when you are stuck or feel stuck in one of the areas of your life?

Maybe you are experiencing a tricky relationship where communication is off, your revenues numbers for the month seem to be slowing or the bills seem to piling up or that weight that you are wanting to lose is rising instead of falling.

When things like this are happening in my life, I always take a look at what is happening energetically.

The first energetic area is MINDSET.

How are my thoughts? I know that if I’m focused on the negative or the chaos that is what will continue so I will shift my mindset using very specific tools like:

1. Extra gratitude and appreciation at the end of the day or in the moment where my thoughts are negative.
2. The Work by Byron Katie that she describes in her book Loving What Is.
3. Adding in another meditation to the day or just taking a few extra moments to breath.

The second energetic area I focus on is what is happening in my physical space (because the state of your home reflects the state of your life). Here’s what I look at:

1. What area in the home or office is piling up with clutter (this can be seen and unseen clutter)?
2. Is the unfinished project list at the house or in my business growing? What do I need to address right now.
3. How does the space feel?

What do you do then? Declutter, finish the projects and light some candles, use essential oils in a diffuser or do a salt space clearing to clean up the energy in the space and promote a positive flow.

The third energetic area I look at is my Soulset© (my purpose and the action that I’m taking). I review what my days have been like to see how much time I have committed to living and acting based on my purpose and the call of my soul. I adjust accordingly if I have been too consumed by the busywork and the draining menial tasks.

So, if you find the energy stagnating in any area of your life, it’s time to review your mindset, free up the energy in your space and focus on spending more time living based on your purpose. This will increase your energy and improve the effort that you are taking on a daily basis to go after what you truly want.

You are in CHARGE of the ENERGY in your SPACE and LIFE. Reclaim it and use it to your advantage!

All that MATTERS is what’s NEXT

You are likely experiencing one of three things right now:

  1. Your life is AMAZING and you have everything you want it but…. (you fill in the blank).
  2. Your life is really good in all areas but you want it to be really GREAT and you aren’t sure how to get from good to great (click here for help to bridge the gap).
  3. You are thriving in one or two parts of your life (like your business, your relationships, your health and well-being or your personal growth and self-discovery) and the others are failing miserably or not where you want them to be.

So, which is it? Are you 1, 2 or 3? or a bit of a combo?

Right here, right now, ALL that matters is “What’s NEXT?”.

What is the next step, the next action, the next thing you have to do change it, and to create a shift and to go after what it is you truly want in that particular area(s) of your life.

What you may be wanting to do right now is one of these things:

  • Blame someone else for where you are at.
  • Say you don’t have enough time to change or you’ve already tried.
  • Give up on the dream and the desire of how you want it to be and just resolve yourself to the fact that this is the life you were dealt or it’s good enough.

OR…

You could CHOOSE to drop all of the stories of blame and realize that you chose your way to this state and that’s okay.

You could admit that you didn’t really go ALL IN, you just tried a little harder than you had before and you could actually GO ALL in this time.

You could realize that this is your LIFE and you can create whatever you TRULY WANT.

So, what’s next for you?

Will you continue to blame, moan and complain or will you go ALL IN, take the next necessary required ACTION and realize that you are COMPLETELY CAPABLE of creating whatever it is you truly want and you ALWAYS have a CHOICE.

It doesn’t matter about your past successes or failures, your past choices, or where you are right now, all that matters is what you DECIDE TO DO NEXT.

Create and LIVE the LIFE you TRULY WANT.
